John Barber, COTA
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
As a young boy, often the first words John would speak each Saturday morning would be “Are we going camping or fishing today?”… always attempting to leave no room for another choice of activity. While he was in his latter elementary school years John moved to Idaho with his family. This move helped answer that vital question. He would do both! With a deep love for all things outdoors John quickly developed his talents for fishing, camping, photography, hunting, and gardening; especially cultivating heirloom tomato and pumpkin plants.
Early on in life John wanted to be a dental lab technician. After obtaining an associate degree in Dental Lab Technology, at ISU in Pocatello Idaho, he discovered a particular interest surrounding helping others succeed when mental or physical challenges were involved. This new interest took him back to school. In the spring of 2023 John completed coursework leading to an associate of applied science in Occupational Therapy Assistance. John is proud to be a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and to have graduated Magna Cum Laude, at the top of his class.
As a sufferer with ADD (attention deficit disorder), John has first-hand experience with how to navigate in this sometimes rather chaotic and confusing world. Today, his greatest joy is in finding ways to teach others how they can reach their goals.
