Betsy Aller, PT

Physical Therapist

Betsy grew up/ was raised in Southern California. She became interested in physical therapy at a young age while volunteering with Girl Scouts at a skilled nursing facility. She worked as a Physical Therapy (PT) Aide in a small hospital and private practice after graduating high school while starting general education in a community college and into a PT Assistant program.

After graduating, getting married, helping put her husband through school while working as a PT Assistant and having two children, She went back to school and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy (and gave birth to her third child). She worked for many years with children with various diagnoses (and their families) at a school site clinic for California Children’s Services.

She was very involved with assessing for various equipment for home and school, and helped train general education elementary students to be “wheelchair assistants” on campus. She moved to smaller city in Southern California and changed to working for a school district where she treated at school sites, in home, assessing and providing equipment and dabbled in assistive technology for many years before retiring.

She worked part time for Inland Regional Center providing Early Intervention services in home as well as eligibility assessments before moving to Idaho with her Spousal Equivalent and his youngest son (in the middle of COVID-19). She couldn’t seem to stay away from her love of working with children and providing physical therapy, so she began working part time for Emmett School District.

She enjoys camping, some light hiking, home repair/remodeling (especially tiling), sewing, doing arts and crafts and floating/kayaking. Oh, and of course she loves spending time with her family (who are spread all over the place: California, Texas, Oregon and Guam) and my 12 grandchildren and several “bonus” children and grandchildren.
